2023 Souper Bowl of Caring to benefit Community Shelter of Union County logo
The Community Shelter of Union County is a partner with Union County Public Schools and area houses of worship in the 31st annual Souper Bowl of Caring. This year's campaign runs from Jan. 19 through March 15, and all proceeds to stay local and are directed toward the Shelter's mission to provide emergency shelter, food and rehousing.

Since 2011, the Souper Bowl of Caring has raised almost $344,000 to help end hunger and homelessness locally. Last year, Marvin Ridge Middle led all Union County schools by raising $4,500. The Health Sciences Academy at Monroe Middle showed the greatest increase, with 1,253% more donations than the previous year.

Bank of America joins the Souper Bowl as a first-time sponsor of this campaign.

In 2023, we'll repeat events for the campaign.

Souper Bowl III, in which local restaurants put up their best soups in a cooking challenge, is Wednesday, Feb. 8, at East Frank Superette & Kitchen.

We'll provide details later about a March event.
